University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER) has through its Advanced Control Team (ACT, http://act.rasip.fer.hr) a large theoretical and practical background in system identification and control backed through optimization techniques. ACT has actively contributed to modernisation of the Zagreb city water supply system in the early 2000s. In the field of demand prediction UNIZG-FER/ACT has recently successfully finished several R&D projects in short-term electricity and gas demand prediction systems. For the adaptive pricing in water supply systems, UNIZG-FER/ACT builds on its current developments in wind farms, microgrids and smart grids control, where it has one finished (wind farms control – AEOLUS) and two ongoing FP7 projects (microgrids and smart grids control – ACROSS and DYMASOS), and also one ongoing national project (MICROGRID).
