Albert Rodríguez from ATEKNEA and Xavier Llort from HYDS are going to participate in the 36th International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research World Congress to be held in Delft and the Hague (the Netherlands) from the 28th of June to the 3rd of July.
The consortium will present a poster called “A flexible Decision Support System for efficient and integrated water resources management” on Thursday 2nd July during the ICT session.
Integrated water resources management is a growing problem due to several factors: increase of population and industries using water, rise of water scarcity in some areas, non-regular availability of fresh water, ecological related problems, etc.
Within UrbanWater a web-based Spatial Decision Support System (SDSS) has been developed to help operators and decision makers on the actions to be taken on every element of their water supply distribution system both in a short-term (days) and in a long-term (months) basis.
A prototype of the SDSS is under testing in the three project test sites: Almería (Spain), Algarve (Portugal) and Janovice (Czech Republic). The sites have different water management strategies, leading to different logical schemas.
